· SEC Player of the Week – Auburn forward/center Johni Broome, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound senior from Plant City, Fla., averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in wins over Vermont and against No. 4 Houston. Broome began the week with 12 points and seven rebounds against America East Conference preseason favorite Vermont. He followed that up with 16 points on 10-of-15 (66.7 percent) shooting from the field, eight rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals against Houston.
· SEC Freshman of the Week – Texas guard Tre Johnson, a 6-foot-6, 190-pound freshman from Garland, Texas, averaged 28.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals against Ohio State and Houston Christian. He shot 55.3-percent (21-38) from the floor, including a 55.6-percent mark (10-18) from three-point range, and 71.4-percent (5-7) from the free throw line. Johnson set the school record for most points (29) in a freshman debut against Ohio State. He then returned to post 28 points (11-18 FG, 5-8 threes, 1-2 FT) against Houston Christian.
· The SEC leads the nation with eight teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25: Alabama 2nd, Auburn 5th, Tennessee 11th, Arkansas 18th, Kentucky 19th, Florida 20th, Texas A&M 23rd, and Ole Miss 25th. Texas and Mississippi State are among the teams receiving votes.
· The SEC is the top-ranked conference entering the 2024-25 season, according to KenPom.
· Eleven SEC teams are ranked in the Top 50 of KenPom’s team rankings. All 16 teams rank in the Top 100.
· Nine of the 16 current SEC schools (56% of the conference) are coming off an NCAA Tournament berth
· Twenty-two percent of the players on NBA Opening Day rosters that went to college attended SEC schools. The SEC led all conferences with 103 players on NBA Opening Day rosters.
· Alabama’s Mark Sears and Auburn’s Johni Broome were named to the six-person Associated Press Preseason All-America team. Texas A&M’s Wade Taylor IV and Arkansas’ Johnell Davis were among the players that received votes for the squad.

· Three SEC coaches enter the 2025 season ranking among the winningest active coaches in the nation: John Calipari (1st/815 wins), Rick Barnes (2nd/808 wins) and Bruce Pearl (12th/685 wins).

· Four players from SEC schools were members of the USA Basketball’s gold medal winning team at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
· The SEC ranked second nationally with 2,826,719 fans attending games during the 2023-24 season. An average of 11,633 fans attended games at SEC schools in 2024, an increase of 289 from 2023.
· Three of the top five attendance leaders in 2023-24 were from the SEC. Kentucky ranked third in the nation with a total attendance of 358,702 (19,928 average), Tennessee ranked fourth with 314,617 fans (19,664 average) and Arkansas was fifth with 343,905 fans (19,106 average).
