Ole Miss will face either North Carolina or San Diego State on Friday at 3:05 p.m. CDT in Milwaukee. Those two teams face off on Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Dayton, Ohio.
San Diego State is 21-9 overall, having lost to Boise State in their first game in the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Aztecs have wins over Creighton and Houston earlier this season. They have a NET of 52. They're 3-6 in Quad 1.
North Carolina is 22-13 with a NET of 36. They're 1-12 in Quad 1.
Should Ole Miss win, they'll face Lipscomb or Iowa State on Sunday.
Lipscomb is 23-9 with a NET of 84. They're 0-2 in Quad 1.
Iowa State is 24-9 with a NET of 9. They're 8-7 in Quad 1 and they have a 3-2 record on neutral floors. However, they're not full strength in Milwaukee.
Per the Des Moines Register, Iowa State men's basketball will be preparing for the NCAA Tournament without one of its key players. Shortly after learning its NCAA Tournament fate, Cyclones head coach T.J. Otzelberger announced that Keshon Gilbert will not be suiting up for Iowa State.
Gilbert, who missed four of Iowa State's last seven games with a strained groin, will be shut down for the rest of the season.
"With Keshon, we decided that he needs to focus on his rehab and getting his body back right, so he won't be available as we move forward," Otzelberger said.
No matter how far Iowa State goes, Otzelberger ruled out any possibility of a return in future rounds and games.
"He's just got to focus on him getting back healthy and getting back to being him," Otzelberger said.
