Sonoma State University announces elimination of athletic department

I have not seen this on the board.

SSU facing a 23-24 million budget shortfall, eliminates all athletics starting in Fall 2025, elimination of majors and faculty/staff layoffs.

Administration waited until the Transfer Portal closed before making the announcement. Cuts were discussed internally in the fall around October. Baseball staff was hired in December.
