Something has to change. We have a very thin bullpen to begin with and we are making it worse with our starting rotation. We CANNOT continue to use up our 2 best pitchers in the first game of each series. It makes zero sense. It would make much more sense to move Morris to number 1 or 2 and move Mattox or Nichols back to the bullpen. This would hopefully lengthen the innings of our starters, especially Morris, thus strengthening our bullpen. Also, it seems we should be looking to extend the innings of our starters whenever possible. It made no sense to pull Nichols yesterday when he was pitching well and had a low pitch count. ESPECIALLY knowing the bullpen is an obvious weakness. Thoughts?
