After hitting on almost one third of his 170 predictions on the Top 25 teams for the '23 season, Manny Navarro of the Athletic has released his predictions for the top 25 teams entering the '24 season. Here's a handful of the Top 25 with all the ranked SEC teams......oddly but yet specific......take 'em for what they're worth as the guy only hit on a third of 170 predictions last year.
Georgia will lose at Texas but will revenge its loss in the SEC title game and secure the #2 seed in the CFP
Ohio State will earn the #1 seed in the CFP and win its first national title since 2014. Judkins rushes for over 1,000 yards
Texas loses to Oklahoma in the regular season and to Georgia in the SEC title game but will make the CFP quarterfinals
Oregon wins vs Ohio State in Eugene and will play in the Big Ten title game. Loses in CFP quarterfinals
Alabama plays a first round playoff game on the road against Michigan and wins. Plays Ohio State in the quarterfinals and loses
Ole Miss will miss the playoffs due to a leaky offensive line that will surrender as many as 35 sacks during the season. Navarro doesn't give the incoming O line transfers high marks and cohesion will become a problem. He predicts Dart will have a very good year throwing for more than 3,500 yards and 35 TDs but Judkins now at OSU and the high sack count will keep us out of the playoff
Notre Dame will lose to Texas A&M on opening night but will run the table and earn the #5 seed and beat the Big 12 champion in the quarterfinals
Penn State wins 10 games but is left out of the CFP. Can't beat Ohio State
Missouri with 3 SEC losses will miss the playoffs
LSU will win only 9 regular season games and miss the playoffs. The Tigers lost too much with Daniels now in the NFL
Utah will lose to Ok State but wins the Big 12 championship and is the only Big 12 team to make the CFP
Tennessee has a challenging schedule with trips to Georgia and Oklahoma, a home date with Alabama, and a matchup with NC State. Navarro predicts TN loses 3 of those games mostly due to its secondary and wins 9 games missing the playoffs
Oklahoma starts 9-0 and backdoors its way to the playoff as the #11 seed despite 2 SEC losses. Sooners' defense is solid
Texas A&M will go into its SEC finale against Texas with a chance to play for the SEC title but the Horns prevail despite a late TD pass from Arch Manning. Navarro predicts this game will be the best regular season game of the year
