Must start with high quality beef.

Should be grilled, charcoaled preferably. Occasional flat top smash burger is ok but you must have two patties on the burger.

Weird toppings on a burger is a no no. Only lettuce, onion and maybe a tomato. You start piling on shit and it’s not a burger.

Bun should be good quality but on the thin side, meat to bread ration should be at least 2 to 1. A burger is for the meat.

No mayo, no exceptions.

Ketchup is sketchy, if you’re going to add it, it must be a small amount.

Mustard is the standard but also should be used minimally, again you should taste the meat, not the condiments.

Lettuce must be crisp and cold. Onion is ok if it’s not a strong onion, it should compliment the meat, big bites of onion are not acceptable.

And no bacon. Sorry, you should taste the beef, not hide it with bacon. Bacon is for BLT’s and breakfast.
