If you review Tom Izzo's basketball teams over the years, you'll notice how he follows the "We'll play anybody, anywhere, anytime" approach.
Sure, they'll lose 3 or 4 non-conference games. Perhaps, they'll get off to a "bumpy" start in Conference play. They may even fall out of the Top 25.
Nevertheless, his goal is to build a team for the postseason. Those early games against very good teams will only make his team better in every respect. His record speaks for itself.
I salute Coach Beard for following that same line. He has an inordinate amount of newcomers who will need playing time. By the end of the season, he will have the best 8 to 9 man rotation.
