Was the best WR Ole Miss has ever suited up IMO.

Been following the Rebs for the better part of 30 years. I've never seen a WR in man to man coverage more open. He simply could not be covered by one man.

Feed Moncrief a close second :)

The only reason he didn't have better numbers is because Chad had multiple targets that would have been many other team's #1 receiver.

Here's how I'd rank WRs-see if you agree: 1. Treadwell 2. Moncrief 3. Michael Harmon 4. Tim Moffett 5. J.R. Ambrose 6. Ken Toler 7. Vernon Studdard 8. Cory Peterson 9. Willie Green 10. Pat Coleman. Crap, forgot Mike Wallace. I'll tie him with #2. I did not look at any stats, just memory since the 1970s.

Does anyone remember Eddie Small? I know at one time he broke some records in the early 90's.

Guys I know these are just opinions and you guys choices but if Chris Collins and Shay Hodge name isn't on the list then your list is irrelevant. Just my take. If you need proof look at OLE Miss WR records.

Chris Collins was very good but he had Eli throwing to him, hitting him right between the 8 and the 0 on his jersey. I had no idea how good Eli was till all his receivers were still at ole miss the yr after Eli graduated and our passing numbers disappeared. Collins caught passes from Eli for 3 years. Collins could run a great route and had steady hands, ran a 4.75 40 time, but I dont think he belongs in the top 10 all time at Ole Miss. Very good though. Mike Walace was a pure speed demon. Fastest player in the NFL today

You are basing your top ten from someone's speed. Again I know this is your top 10 so they are just opinions. It does not matter if Eli or Archie was throwing passes to Chris. The guy set records. No matter how you put it. Mike Wallace was my teammate and was one dimensional which was the deep ball. He did not set any records. I really hope you go back and re-evaluate what a good receiver is. Also, the type of offense that was ran plays a large part in the success of players. Freeze throw the ball 80% of the game vs all other teams after Eli In which the ball would be thrown 50%.

Never said he was not good and I just feel that in an offense where Eli ' s passes sure were accurate and the teamed up for 3 years and I agree Wallace was a burner and yes the system and qb play a huge roll in setting records. In my opinion a record does not put him in my top 10

Good deal. I'll leave you with this. QB doesn't make a receiver and vice versa. Eli was a rare talent and if it was Eli who made the players, then we should name all other receivers that caught his passes. Eli never had a 1,000 yd receiver during his tenure. But to me if I was putting together a top 10, I would do it based on production not who I like. But I do like reading you guys comments because I learn about players I may not have known of.

With a list of only 10 and trying to span the past several years, I inevitably will forget somebody as I did here. You're right, Collins and Hodge should be included. Was trying to include forgotten greats as Harmon and Toler. The players I listed just came to mind. Ponder it. Post your list, as well.

I do. I wonder why some of these guys didn't go pro like Small, Peterson, Collins, Espy. Ambrose tried out for Green Bay and didn't make it. Thought for sure he'd do great for them. And Tim Moffett for the Raiders. He was GREAT!

I understand and again I'm not picking at your list. Like I stated before I enjoy learning of players that I had no clue of before. I was aware of Pat Coleman and Peterson but some of the others I did not. I think it would be hard for myself to make a top 10 because I didn't know of some of the guys. I just wanted to add that Collins and Hodge should have been included. As for Wallace, he would be top 10 but not my top 5. But I'll give it a go for conversation purposes.

I know you're not picking on my list. It was just fun to reflect on past years. Got into a conversation at Manning's on Bourbon St. New Orleans with a former Ole Miss placekicker who showed up there. The conversation inspired me to make this list. He was a walk-on. Name was Charlie Foster. Said he never played-3rd string. Anyone remember the name? Great guy!
