I haven’t watched a full game of this team nor anybody else until today, but I’m going to give you my self-educated expert analysis.
The Rebs played well on defense and limited perimeter looks by UGA. It also helped that when UGA did get a decent look from 3, they couldn’t hit it either. The Rebs were sloppy on the boards in the first half, but picked it up a lot in the 2nd half. Brakefield had a very efficient game in only 23 minutes. He had 15 points going 5-7 from the floor which includes 3-3 from 3. Murrell added a punch too going 5-8 from the field and adding 6 boards.
Additionally, why is there a sparse crowd? I know I couldn’t go because of hunting season and having to sit in my blind outside Pontotoc. However, for those that can make it then y'all need to cheer in my place. Show up!
I’ll try to continue this until home baseball season starts at Swayze. I’ll just be too busy attending our non con slate. Got to make sure those bats heat up against Eastern Kentucky, Wright State and Jax State in those freezing cold temps. Home SEC basketball games will take a back seat then until April.
I’ll hopefully be back Wednesday against Arkansas for my second game of the year.
