That’s what’s wild.
We lost a game to a team that went Ole Miss and 7 in the SEC, including a red zone fumble, a missed FG at the end, a 4th and 7.
We lost a game where we literally never saw a snap taken where we were losing, and we had to fumble before the half, have multiple possessions in the red zone with no points, and give up two 4th and longs.
We lost a game yesterday where we had 0 points on 3 red zone trips, where we gave up 3 points in the 3rd quarter while surrendering 4 total yards of offense in said quarter, and dropped 2 TD passes.
ALL of that had to go against us for us to miss the playoffs. Flip any of that, and we are fine. That’s a testament to the mental fragility of this staff and this roster that they were able to be THIS good of a team and still find a way to miss the postseason.
I have slept on it, and I am more firmly of the belief that this is by far the biggest failure of a season in the modern era, possibly ever in Ole Miss history.
