What's the word on Chad Kelly?

Are you sure Hosick wants to come here and if so how good it he? I personally think Kelly is too much a liability if this story is half true.

I'd rather start next season with a two headed QB Buchannan/Kincade than to deal with a head case. At least I can count on them to give maximum effort on and off the field.

Freeze has spent 3 seasons building a nationally competitive program at Ole Miss. I hope he doesn't risk handing the team over to a guy with a HISTORY of problems. How many "red flags" must one see?

We Keep Him

There is a minor moral compromise and a very significant risk involved, for no one knows when he will go off again. Not Freeze either.

But, this potentially great team needs as many try-outs for QB as it can get....and what pushes the decision in his favor, as far as I am concerned, is the possibility, admittedly riddled with risks....that we put at QB, on the best team Ole Miss has fielded since 1959...a QuarterBack named "Machine Gun Kelly".

The bullies came up with that, I believe, and I thank them for it.

I know a lot of you have already pointed it out but, you don't want to throw the last three years of building away on a punk like Kelly. It sends the wrong message to parents of future recruits as well. This douche should have never been considered in the first place, he is not needed.

Did you bother to read

What I said? No mention of any prob with strip clubs. My problem is with all the serious charges NO ALCOHOL related. Now maybe you stay out til 3 not intoxicated so my hats off to you . It would be alcohol for me. I am curious of what he was up to and why the firearms subject would come up unless of course you had capabilities.

Re: Did you bother to read

I read your post. It infers that the establishment was a strip club. There is no evidence of that.

You really think it requires alcohol to get in trouble? There are plenty of other mood altering substances that can lower inhibitions and allow otherwise sane people to act in outrageous manners. You are a really interesting poster. I referred my premed daughter to your profile for her psychology lab.

Re: Did you bother to read

Great she'll likely want to hook up thanks!

My son's good friend had a few classes with Chad at Clemson and said he was nothing but trouble. Arrogant and disrespectful to his professors and said he was escorted out of class once for picking a fight with a nerd. He can't be trusted to make good decisions and I am thankful Dabo showed him the door.

After thinking about this some I think I'm going to change my mind on this situation.

If what i'm hearing is correct and he HAS NFL talent I say we bring him on campus... To my knowledge we've only had 2 QB's that has gone on to pro careers and both were named Manning.. Am I leaving anyone out??

If he wants to obey the rules and ok with being on a short leash then we get a kid with NFL talent who is already committed to us. If he wants to act like an ass we boot him and he only has his sr year to build his worth elsewhere.

If we boot him now and he does have NFL talent and can halfway control himself he will be scooped up before the new years ring in.

He's committed to us and we do have "some" power over him -at least one of two years of eligibility. This is definitely a risk reward situation but we pay a coach $4 million dollars who can keeping him in line or booting him when the time is right.

Norris Weese was the QB for Denver who started the SB. Glynn Griffing went to the Giants and was expected to take over for Y.A. Tittle, but 'things' happened and he only lasted only one full year - he subbed in a Championship game. Kent Austin was on a roster for a year or so, then went to the CFL. Jake Gibbs chose MBL. A few others had brief unsuccessful shots. But Conerly, Archie and Eli have been the only ones of note.

You could make the argument that the kid has not enrolled yet and has not been to a practice. He has to be on board to be canned. Whether or not the coaches will be able to control him, will be known in short order. Dropping him now will allow him to move on to another school. A month into the term greatly limits his options. Maybe he'll get religion, although it's a long shot.

Talk about the power of redemption. I think I speak for all Rebels when I say he turned out the way he did, but looking at it from the beginning it appeared that it could have went either way. It appears all he needed was some proper guidance.

I don't have any crow to eat :)

I love the kid and so glad he's a Rebel now. Hope we get one more year with him!

Norris Weese and John Fourcade. Not big impacts like the Mannings in the NFL, but they played there. And a "should have been there" in Jevan Snead. Oh, and Charlie Connerly! Major impact in the NFL.
