I got trapped in reading about the latest celebrity "imagining" the assassination of Trump tonight and the thought struck me - why in the **** do we care about the opinions of celebrities?
As most know, I'm not a Trump fan... I'm a libertarian and his brand of Republican politics does not agree with me... but, I'm conflicted about this new trend.
Look, I don't believe that "imagining the death of the king" is treason... we're not England under Tudor rule. At the same time, some of this shit is just irresponsible and, frankly, despicable...
Still, why do we care? Why do we even consider the opinions of some of these ****ing mannequins that have no talent in life other than playing out the product of an actual intelligent person's imagination?
Is a high school drop out like Johhny Depp really someone who has an opinion that I should care about? Probably not... the fact that he couldn't even finish ****ing high school is a strong indicator that his opinion on things beyond the superficial simply don't ****ing matter.
Should I care what a washed up tramp like Madonna thinks? Hell, did her opinion about anything other than bra style ever matter?
I don't hate celebrities... but I do wish they would just shut up and know their place... in most cases, these piles of shit have nothing going for them other than a pretty face and the ability to follow directions... they're Hooters girls that got lucky. The sooner the actor and musician class return to their proper place in society, the better... social commentary is fine when the commentator is someone worthy of having an opinion... unfortunately, our creative class these days is rarely more than high school dropouts who can do little more than parrot back whatever someone tells them to think. To celebrities: Just shut the **** up.
