Final 4: Who cuts down the nets?

Let's hear everyone's thoughts. Weird year where all 4 are 1 seeds, but also makes sense given all 4 teams' performance through the tourney. It's hard to pick one confidently given the strength of the teams remaining, but I'm leaning towards the winner of Duke and Houston. The defense Houston played against the Vols today was insane. If that defense travels to San Antonio, I would take my chances with them. Florida can also just shoot everyone out of the gym if they feel like it

SEC Team Baseball stats(full season and conf only) question.....

I can't seem to find the pitching and fielding stats. I found the hitting stats on the SEC website, but that's all I could seem to find.

Would be interested in knowing what team ERAs are both in full season and conf play, and how that compares to last year and the year prior.

Seems to me there's ALOT more scoring this year than in previous years. Maybe Im wrong, but wondering if someone has the numbers on that.

HOOPS: Leftover things from Milwaukee

I'm about to head to the airport. I should get home, if all goes well, around 7 or so tonight.

Last couple of things from here. I made the use of every moment of access last night, literally getting kicked out of the locker room interviewing Sean Pedulla. Here's that, in case you'd like to hear from the star guard.

Finally, a shoutout to Matthew Murrell. He's hurt. The knee is bad. How bad? I don't know, but he can't do the athletic things he could when he was healthy. Yet, he's grinding his way to the Sweet 16 this week. I think it's a cool story.

"It means everything," Murrell said. "Being hurt, and being able to go out there and still battle, affect winning with this team at a high level, it means everything. I praise God for allowing me to be able to continue to play without further damaging myself."

Davon Barnes was sitting next to Murrell as he spoke. The Sam Houston transfer, one of my favorite guys on this team, let his teammate finish. Then he added his commentary.

"He's a dog," Barnes said.

Signing off from Milwaukee. Have a great Monday.

Cruising through the skies bored but thinking about baseball. Some thoughts.

Big win. In February, if we were offered 5-2 vs. Ark, Missouri and Florida, we’d be thrilled. It’s a great start. This team has flaws, but also lots of positives, the best being grit.

If we can improve just a tic with runners on, we can beat lots of teams.

We need to throw everything we have in game 1 of the doubleheader and win it. If it means we’re depleted and get run ruled in game 2 so be it.

This offense has scored a lot but left so much more on the table. What they do is grind pitchers.

Federico is going to be one of the most despised players in the SEC by opposing pitchers before he’s gone. Forget 1-4 or whatever, he stresses pitchers by working counts.

I think an undervalued player is Furniss. He has a backbone. His postgame interview was interesting. He called out Florida for going in spikes high and his anger was up on that double. He also basically said that if we punch them in the mouth and win game 1 that they will quit in game 2 of the doubleheader. I like the attitude.

Give Mike credit. He’s pulling the strings. Inserting Chen, going to Randall, nursing Reuter and Furniss until Will got hot. He always does his best work when his back is against the wall. So far this year, he’s been really, really good. Credit where it’s due.

Hopefully playing JSU & Alcornwill give us a chance to play some guys who haven’t seen much action. Paino, Smithwick, Surowick, Reuter.

Hopefully we can get Tookoian, Hancock, Johnson, Ketchum and some of the backend guys some work and still win.
