Beat Marshal 49-14 (currently 8-3)
Beat MI St 38-7 (finished 5-7)
Beat Iowa 35-7 (finished 8-4)
Lost to OR 32-31 (undefeated #1 team)
Beat NEB 21-17 (finished 6-6)
Beat Penn St 20-13 (finished 11-1)
Beat Purdue 45-0 (currently 1-10)
Beat NWestern 31-7 (finished 4-8)
Beat IU 38-15 (currently 10-1)
Lost to Michigan 17-14 (finished 7-5)

I realize it’s 0% they fall out of the top 12 but their resume ain’t great. They beat one highly ranking team (Penn St). Penn St beat one ranked team (Illinois). They lost today to Michigan with an offense that belongs in Iowa City, Iowa.

I am biased for SEC but when you look at these Big 10 teams and want to argue they deserve 4 teams and the SEC deserves 4 teams, I think that’s just wrong.

What are the top 12 football programs?

Slow Thanksgiving Eve.
Got to talking to a couple coworkers and clients today about the state of college football. One is an Alabama fan, one is an Ohio state fan and another is a Wisconsin fan…

We started talking about how the new playoff model is flawed but that it makes the regular season feel more important late in the year.

That led to programs that are considered “top 12 programs ” or “top 12 jobs in this era”, etc.
pretty interested in the lists that were created.

But we kinda agreed on all of these teams.
Really no order of these… more like tiers but anyways…

Tier 1:
Texas
Alabama
Georgia
Ohio State
Tier 2:
LSU
Oregon
Penn State
Ole miss
Tier 3:
Michigan
Miami
Notre Dame
Tennessee

Honorable mentions: Clemson, Texas A&M, Florida State (I just think this season is unrecoverable next year. Gonna take some time).

Here's a good stat about how spoiled we have become

From 2021 to current we've played 51 games, and we've played as an unranked team only 2 times- The 2021 opener against Louisville and the 2022 Houston Bowl.

From 1973 through 1989, a period of 17 years, we played as a ranked team a total of 5 times. A few in '76 and a few in '86.

May we never feel the pains that we felt in the 70s, 80s, mid 90s, Orgeron, Late Nutt and Luke ever again.

Way off topic. Historians GITT

My grandmother passed away last week. My Aunt had a bible that has been in the family for over 4 generations. Family was originally from Port Gibson. This is a pic of the spine of the Bible. Has anyone seen anything to have any idea what the timeframe could be? It had been through floods and that combined with time made it very brittle. We could find no dates anywhere one it. The markings on the spine where odd for a bible IMO.

Sorry this is the best I could do on the photo.
