Was perusing our conference stats the other day and noticed that it looked like our walk numbers had gone down in conference play and thought that was interesting.
SEC pitching staffs in conference play have averaged 4 walks a game. As an offense, we have averaged 4.7 walks a game. We started conference play averaging 6.8 walks a game in the first three series, and since have dropped to 3.4 walks per game in the 5 series since. In that same span we went from averaging 8.55 runs a game to 4.7.
I don’t know how this compares to the rest of the league offense wise, just thought it was interesting and shows a potential downturn in quality at bats by our offense (and also that we played Mizzou in the first 3 weekends).
