If you listen to his post game press conference it’s easy to see how he gets guys to play hard for him. He’s not a me guy at all. More of a I’m going to to tell you what to do but it is up to you to do it, Just trust me. I always find it fascinating with guys like him when he tells a story of wanting to spend some time around Saban. Bob Knight and Bo Schembechler were good friends and I remember Knight saying how he liked to spend time with football coaches. His reasoning was that they had so much more to prepare for as opposed to basketball coaches and he could always learn something. Beard’s comments tonight about Saban made me think of that story.
