My daughter just texted me pictures of what appears to be a black panther behind our house in Oxford. At first I thought it was a black lab, but after she sent me more photos I’m thinking she may be right that it was a BIG BLACK CAT. She thinks it was stalking the neighbors cat and may have gotten it. I looked up panther sightings in ms, and there hasn’t been a confirmed sighting in 100 years( although lots of unconfirmed) I’ve seen trail camera photos of a panther in south Alabama but the guy didn’t turn it in for fear of feds taking some sort of endangered species action. Any way daughter called OPD who came out and looked at pictures and they put her in touch with game warden. I’ll update what they find.
