]So I've been evaluating our current class, watching lots of film, tweeting at big time national level recruits telling them where to go to college, informing them of our team colors, emailing Neil and high school coaches with tips for evaluating pad level and gap inte-grit-y, ect.
But, I've also been reading Nuggets lately and the recruiting information on Scout.con (a different web cite that covers Ole Miss sports where guys like me and you can pay a subscription fee for access to premium content and discuss all things Ole Miss) and it seems to me we're not doing as well as we could with Shay Patterson leading the charge. It's literally ironic Shay hasn't gotten us a head start on recruits like we want him to since we have the Patterson school of a counting on campus hear, so Patterson should be anonymous with results.
But long story short I think we're running second or third for a lot of national prospects because we offer so many kids. Think about it, I actually went to college and in my introduction to economics class I dropped after the first test we learned about how high supply = low demand. (Editers note: I didn't drop it because it was to hard, or out partying with my dad's credit card like guys in fraternities. No offense. I was studying hospitality management and economics literally has nothing to do with hospitality or managing what you've made a hospice). Since we've offered so many lower tier prospects, they think we're not an elite program like Bama, Aubren, LSU, TCU, or South Carolina, and we should start re sending offers to lower rated guys in order to rebuild the Ole Miss football brand and image to high schoolers than start selling Patterson (can't wait to photoshop Shay's name on a Oxford mayor sign next time Pat Patterson runs- good joke to keep in mind. Would bring teh lols).
On a related note, what if we moved up Nigel Not's pecking order by not contacting him for a week only to make us want him more? Think about it, we all get extra intrigued by the girl who is cute but plays hard to get win she quits responding after the 4th message when you say "sup?" Than she acts like she doesn't see you at Funky's bar on the square and it's funny plus her brand gets better because of high demand plus low supply of her responding makes you want it more.
All I'm saying is we can rebuild Ole Miss football into an elite offer then go to an elite brand since not every recruit who runs under a 4.8 forty and goes to FCA once a month will get an offer under Freeze. The kids in Texas will give us more consideration and since Shay is coming to play (pretty good rhyme) we can use that leverage and turn our class into a market externality. Just some food for thought. Plus all this is imo and parts of my scheme could be flawed.
