I went back and looked during the Freeze tenure.
Here are the average carries per game for the running back who averaged the most carries (Not including the quarterbacks)
2012- Jeff Scott 15.15
2013- Jaylon Walton 8.6
2014- Jaylon Walton 8.1
2015- Jaylon Walton 9.6 (current avg. per game)
Aside from the offensive line problems we do not even have a go to back that averages 10 carries a game. A running back that can get in a rhythm needs 15-20 carries a game.
No wonder we can't land any big time backs aside from our offensive scheme and line issues. Opposing coaches have to be showing recruits how many times they will get the ball if they come here.
Freeze knows more about football than I ever will but would it not seem to be more efficient to have a go to back that gets the bulk and enough carries?
