Player of the Week: Gavin Kilen, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Gavin Kilen help the Vols remain unbeaten for the year and take home the 2025 Astros Foundation College Classic title over the weekend in Houston. The junior second baseman led the team in every major offensive category after posting multiple hits and at least one RBI in all four games this week. Seven of Kilen’s 11 hits for the week went for extra bases, including five home runs. He started the weekend with back-to-back two-homer games in wins over No. 16 Oklahoma State and Rice before going 2-for-4 with an RBI in the weekend finale against No. 24 Arizona. Kilen finished a single short of the cycle in UT’s 13-3 win over Rice on Saturday, going 4-for-5 with five runs and four RBIs.
Pitcher of the Week: Aidan King, Florida
Florida’s Aidan King made two appearances, going 2-0 to help power Florida to a 4-1 week and series win over Miami. He totaled 6 1/3 shutout innings with just one hit allowed, struck out seven batters and walked one. King posted a 0.00 ERA and team-low .048 batting average against. He fired a career-high 3 1/3 scoreless innings to record the series-clinching victory over Miami in game two, and he pitched three no-hit, shutout innings at Stetson with four strikeouts to earn his first-career win.
Co-Freshman of the Week: Casan Evans, LSU
LSU’s Casan Evans helped lead the Tigers to a perfect 5-0 record last week, which included a win over No. 17 Dallas Baptist and three victories in the Frisco College Classic. Evans earned a win and a save in two appearances, working a total of 4.0 scoreless innings with three hits, one walk and five strikeouts. He earned the save in Wednesday night’s win over Dallas Baptist, firing 2.0 scoreless innings with no hits, no walks and two strikeouts. After throwing 22 pitches in Wednesday’s game, he returned to the mound on Friday vs. Kansas State and earned the win with another 2.0 inning outing, this time allowing no runs on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts over 33 pitches.
Co-Freshman of the Week: Chris Rembert, Auburn
Auburn’s Chris Rembert drove in a run in all four games, including a pair of four-RBI efforts, and ranked tied for second in the league with 10 RBI for the week. He reached base multiple times in all four games during the week, posting a .529 on-base percentage. Rembert hit a double and homer with four RBI in both the midweek win vs. Samford and weekend win vs. No. 8 Oregon State. He hit a two-run, ground-rule double to tie the game against the Beavers in the second inning and two-run homer to extend Auburn’s lead to three runs in the fifth inning.
