Late in my OM career I'd heard about the train to the LSU game. Fall of '66 I gave it shot with some buds and went to Batesville, caught the train to N.O. arriving about midnight. After rolling to the wee hours then all day Saturday, they had 2 (not 1, TWO) trains headed to Baton Rouge. They took us up behind the stadium and let everyone off. Now these were "party cars" no families going to see Grammy just fans partying. We went to the game (17-0 us). We went back to the trains (they magically got the engine on the other end) and back to N.O. by midnight. 4-5 years later we drove down and no trains, just buses. Trust me the trains to BR were beyond your imagination. A rolling party especially back to N.O. Night games there the best!
