Let’s talk LSU

How we feeling? How do y’all think we matchup with them? Score predictions?

I think we match up pretty well. Their strength is their OL and ours is our DL. I like Pete to get creative to get pressure. Especially with Perkins because he’s so damn athletic and can get home in different ways. Nolen and JJ will eat in the middle as always. Our edge rushers have their work cut out for them, but we are damn good on the DL.

Their defense is awful as we know. Here’s where they rank in the SEC in some random stats and I’ll include Ole Miss as well:

Passing YPG allowed - 16th / OM 8th

Sacks - 3rd (with 15) / Ole Miss is 1st (with 24)

TFL - 15th (with 32) / OM is 1st in the country (with 63)

Rushing YPG allowed- 10th with 117 RYPG & 8 rushing TD allowed / OM 1st in the country with 63 RYPG and just 1 rushing TD allowed in 6 games

I think our offense finds success. It’s obviously even easier with Perkins out for them. Our DL is going to get after Nuss and he’s just not mobile enough to overcome it.

Rebs win 31-24

OT: Dental insurance and out of network dentist

What is the benefit of staying with a dentist who is out of network for ALL insurance carriers? Are there any benefits for the patient?
Work switched over last year to Delta Dental. Our out of pocket costs went up noticeably. (The balance from my wife’s cleaning last month is $150!!) We had paid a little bit after visits for years but it was small enough to deal with it. I went for a cleaning today. She started to do an Xray but I said let’s wait until next time. I told her our out of pockets costs went up this year so I hope it will be better in the spring. She said I understand but we are out of network with all dental insurance carriers. I said what?!? She made it sound like they have been out of network for years. I asked why. She said they feel in the long run, it will save the customer money, because they aren’t incentivized to do extra and sometimes unnecessary work. It doesn’t pass the smell test to me.

Archie has really aged…

@Neal McCready has always said Father Time is undefeated. It’s just sad to see one of your heroes aging.
It’s a very sobering reminder of my own mortality for sure.
Pretty damn cool to watch Peyton and Eli have fun with Archie on Manningcast.
I had a once in a lifetime opportunity with Archie when I was at Ole Miss. Flag football challenge at the world congress center in Atlanta. Even in the mid 90’s he could still sling it. Drawing up plays on his hand for us to run. You just knew the plays would work. Was the highlight of my life. Then years later I see him on a sidewalk in the grove and he calls me by name. Me. A nobody. That was Archie. You guys can hate on the Mannings all you want. Life is too short to not appreciate what great people they are.
We all have our flaws.

Shameless request for hurricane victims in North Carolina:

(Pictures below are discussions with a couple CRNA friends in North Carolina providing critical services to patients, as well as Venmo code. Their homes and communities have been completely devastated.)

Jason McLott is a resident of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, one of the hardest hit areas of Western North Carolina. Although Jason and his family are safe and well, Jason wants to do everything he can to help those experiencing massive losses in this tiny community. Much of the community depends on the mining of quartz (Spruce Pine produces most of the world's high-quality quartz used in electronics) and that means no work/income for much of the community after this devastation.

Please consider donating whatever you're able. Jason plans to distribute to local charities as the needs dictate. Below is his personal Venmo (GoFundMe takes too much off the top). I’ve known Jason for almost a decade and he is an incredible person and will distribute any money raised to help his community.

Please Venmo @ISED8U
