Officiating......Not Complaining

Read an article in today's Athletic about this year's increasing level of public criticism of college football officiating. Supposedly, the number of top notch officials is not keeping up with the growing size of the power conferences. Consequently, conferences are having to borrow/share from other conferences. Lower tier officials are finding themselves working more high profile games. Might be a shocker, or might not, but the SEC shares/borrows officials from the Sun Belt.....according to the article.

We need some help from USC

Notre Dame needs a second loss, and its hard to depend on Virginia or Army to do it. USC is 4-5, but look behind that-

Outgained Michigan and lost
Outgained Minnesota and lost
Outgained Washington and lost
Lost in OT against Penn St
Lost to Maryland on a last minute 2 pt conversion after having a 14 pt 4th Q lead

After hating on him for 4 years, I'm now a huge Woody Marks fan. Same with Lincoln Riley. And the game is in LA. USC is going to be catching 3 or 4 points, so this one is probably going to be on the bet list.

assume all favorites win from here on out, including conf championship games

Byes-

1. Big 10 champ game winner (Ohio St or Oregon)
2. SEC champ game winner (Bama or Texas)
3. Miami
4. BYU

The 5/12 game would be Big 10 champ game Loser hosting Boise, with the winner playing BYU in the Fiesta
The 6/11 game would be Georgia at Penn St with winner playing Miami in the Peach
The 7/10 game would be OM at Notre Dame with winner playing SEC champ game winner in the Sugar
The 8/9 game would be Indiana at SEC Champ game loser with the winner playing Big 10 champ game winner in the Rose

No matter what that Committee says, they are not going to have teams from the same conf play each other in the 1st round games

Dream Scenario- Georgia hammers Tennessee. Indiana loses to Ohio State by 3+ scores. Penn St loses to Minnesota. Notre Dame loses to USC. Alabama loses to Texas in the SEC Championship Game. We win out convincingly. We take the 6 seed and play 11 seed Indiana in Oxford. Winner plays Miami in the Peach.
