If OU is going to jump Ole Miss for “resume” (having a much better win), then Ole Miss should jump Penn State and Mizzou based on resume. The chances of that happening are obviously slim. You can’t pick and choose when you want to choose resume, but unfortunately, they call the shots.

The CFP committee needs to come out and be clear about what actually matters. They get bailed out every year, but didn’t this year. Is it best teams (within reason) or best resumes? Does margin of victory matter or not? Would Alabama have been better off scheduling a cupcake instead of Texas? Should we cancel our USC game in 2025? I have questions. I’m less worried about whether Ole Miss goes to the Cotton or Citrus bowl, and more worried about getting this thing right starting next year.

This isn’t meant to be another debate thread, there’s enough of those. I’m just saying clarity over what actually matters would be helpful for when the playoffs expand next year. Maybe Ole Miss should have kicked FG’s against Georgia instead of going for it on 4th down to make the score closer since apparently Missouri playing Georgia closer than us is the only reason they are ranked higher.
