Poll: Texas or Alabama

Who should get the final CFP spot?

  • 1-loss, Big 12 champ …Texas

  • 1-loss, SEC champ … Alabama, who lost to Texas at home

Let’s assume Michigan and FSU win their conference championships and finish the season undefeated. Washington has locked up a spot already.

One would assume the committee won’t leave out an undefeated P6 conference champ in favor of a 1-loss team.

So, who gets the final spot? Alabama or Texas? Explain.

Am I understanding that Liberty will likely get a NY6 bowl with Tulane losing today?

Liberty - with the 133rd Strength of Schedule and who played no Power 5 teams this year?

I have to say that’s a raw deal … that any Power 5 Team alive for a NY6, whether it’s Ole Miss, Missouri, Penn State or whoever, should lose out due to a “guaranteed” spot to the Group of 5….a really raw deal.

And it could be worse with the 12 team playoff format coming next year — isn’t the group of 5 getting a spot in that too?

Tyler, I was wrong.

I was wrong on Bama. I don’t know how the man does it year after freaking year, but be does it. It helps to have ridiculous amounts of talent, but production and team wise I think this is one of his worst in a while. But they still managed to find ways to beat people and leave no doubt.

The man is the God of College Football. There will never be another.

CFP Contenders & Pretenders

Here is where things stand as of this morning..

SEC: Georgia (7-0), Alabama (7-1), Missouri (7-1), Ole Miss (6-1)

Big Ten: Michigan (8-0), Ohio State (7-0), Penn State (6-1)

Big 12: Oklahoma (7-0), Texas (6-1)

ACC: FSU (7-0), UNC (6-1), Louisville (6-1)

PAC-12: Washington (7-0), Oregon (6-1), Oregon State (6-1), Utah (6-1)

Am I missing any program? I might be willing to add LSU (6-2) because if they won out, maybe they become the first 2-loss team to ever make the CFP?
