Most impressive thing that Beard has done to date

I’ll get this in before he has a chance to better it today.

The win vs NC State was amazing, but I think the most impressive thing was the change in Brakefield. That was such a turnaround in such a short time and that was way more than just a day when his shot was falling.

Against Temple, the was a BLOB play where the ball was lobbed to Brake at the elbow. The defender slagged off of him. Brake had a wide open shot or he could have taken a dribble and gotten about 4 feet from the rim before he met anyone. Instead, he looked for someone to hand the ball off to.

The very next game, he goes for 25/8. He made some shots, but he was so much more aggressive taking the ball to the rim.

More than Xs & Os, I’m realizing that’s the difference Beard makes. He seems to know exactly how to get the most out of every player and knows what buttons to press.

Big game today, and can’t wait until we’re truly rolling.

OT: Runners

Quick question for the runners on the board.

I'm doing the St. Jude 10K tomorrow. I ran about 5 miles on Monday and just a couple easy runs on Tuesday and Wednesday (I normally schedule 5 runs a week, but only a couple of longer ones... the rest are just like 2 mile jogs at a very easy pace). Yesterday morning and this morning, I just got out and went for a walk - just under 3 miles yesterday and a bit under 2 miles this morning.

Mid-way through my walk this morning, I started noticing some tenderness/mild soreness in my left calf. What's the best method to nip this in the bud so that it doesn't possibly affect me tomorrow?

This is only my second ever organized race (the previous was the Cooper-Young 4 miler earlier this year), so I'm trying to get a feel for things... normally, if I wake up and have some soreness, I just don't run but can't really do that on race day.
