Auburn is throwing money at a problem, but ....

I question the strategy behind it.

Analogy: A chef goes to a grocery and buys all of the most expensive ingredients he can find. When he gets back to the kitchen, his staff is befuddled because none of it can actually be used to make a signature dish.

I don't think Jackson Arnold is a bad quarterback, but I'd be curious to see his deep ball accuracy numbers. My bet is it's not that good. Mix that with a guy like Singleton, and it just looks like Freeze is panicking, offering any upper tier kid that will come, and figuring it out when they all get here.

It was very obvious what our staff's strategy was last year. We got smoked against Georgia, upgraded the front seven, and then when Judkins left, spread that money to OL. There were obviously some misevals in that which ultimately might've cost us a Playoff bid. With that said, there was a method to the madness.

This is why I'm not convinced Auburn is going to be world's better. They'll have better players, which expands the margin for error, but I'm not sure they're going to be a top 20 team.

Portal commits

While I know there’s plenty of examples of great players playing in other leagues, I have to think some of these guys are just for depth. I also think some of these are going to be good players. The kid from Marshall is a really good player from what I’ve been told from a friend that’s a Marshall fan.

Who do yall think are coming in to be starters and who do you think are depth pieces?

A first under Kiffin RE: QB

With the obvious direction we are going with portal QB targets.

I think it’s hella hella interesting that this will be the first time at Ole Miss that Kiffin has a first year starter going into the season without a QB competition for the spot.

We can debate the realness of the Plumlee / Altmyer stuff but it was optically and spoken in pressers presented as true comps in the first seasons of Corral and Dart.

So do we really feel this was because of absolute faith in Simmons or more of ridiculous upcoming market thing ? (Easy simple answer is both, just looking for convo on it)

I’m excited about Simmons talent but i’m really skeptical on what we will see in 2025 from a production standpoint. Given experience and not making waves at OL to improve a lot via Portal.

My opinion is we need to see the 2020-2021 run heavy versions of Kiffin’s offense to help Simmons out a lot.

We put too much on Jaxson Dart with the lack of a run game. It cost us games and we absolutely can’t do that with a first year guy.
