The committee is screwed. They’re gonna have to drop SMU out if they’re humiliated. That precedent…no one is gonna want to play in championship games.

The alternative, let SMU in over Alabama.

They are screwed.

If a conference can’t justify a neutral site championship game due to attendance or revenue then they don’t deserve an automatic bid.

What is stopping these conferences from colluding together on standardized contract terms with 2-4 year limits and opt out clauses? I could see where it goes back to a HS recruiting model. I could see where you backload contracts for guys in year 3 or 4. I can see where evaluations and development become requirements again. Feels like it would fix this mess. And the transfer portal is if a player met an opt out clause.

Has anyone seen it? Just now getting around to seeing it.

With Sark or Ewers. They have no chance of winning the natty with Ewers, I’d roll with Arch in the playoffs.

Since the opening 3 game stretch (new team needing to gel, Murrell missing part of Grambling and all of South Al game), Ole Miss has the #1 rated offense per Torvik in the nation at 131.8 points per 100 possession . This outranks even Auburn and Alabama.

-In that timeframe we are #1 in the country in offensive turnover rate and #28 in 3pt%. The lack of turnovers gives us more shots and keeps teams from easy buckets, and should keep us in every game this season.

-Our 145.8 ORating against Colorado State is our highest single game performance since a 149 against Arkansas on Jan 17, 2015, and second highest since Torvik began tracking in 2008.

-We've also had a rating >120 in each of our last 5 games, something we have never done in the Torvik era. We did that against 3 power conference opponents and another from a multi-bid league in CSU.

I am at the 5A state championship game in Jerry World. There is a RB for Richland Randle who is a sophomore. Landen Williams Callis. He is unreal for any aged Hugh school kid but for a sophomore it is crazy. I would say the only knock on him is that he is only 5’7”. But wow this kid is electric.

Little guy tonight who calls game with McElroy. All year, he’s been a freaking know it all. Talking down to the audience tone more than anything.

He topped it it off with his proclamation when Clemson kicked the game winning FG. “SMU deserves to be in the playoff. I’ve seen their resume - it’s good enough!”

He and Joe Tess are horrible. Give me the three Daves from Jefferson Pilot days.
