Sundays are always about the truth and we went through the previous game to understand what's what. You take the truth and learn from it. Great teams learn week to week. They try to improve on that week to week. The good thing about coaching is you have the opportunity to improve week to week. Rushing the football we did well. When we rush for more than 200 we do well. Under 300 total defense is very good. Need to improve kickoff returns. Didn't do extremely well. Nathan Noble handled kickoffs well. We had a defensive touchdown. Very good on third down defense. Third down red zone was excellent. We had nine explosive plays on offense. Need to eliminate the two we gave up defensively. The effort defensively was better on tape than I thought live. We didn't have urgency with tempo when we were on defense.

We move on to Fresno. The kids out there love challenges and playing in environments against bigger schools. I know their coach from Nike trips. He's a golf buddy on those trips. He's a 3-3 defense. Five returning starters on both sides. They spread out with tempo on offense. It will be a better test to judge where we are. Glad we have them at home. Our crowd was phenomenal. Energy was great for a morning game.

Expect Rod Taylor to practice tomorrow. He will take some reps at left tackle and we'll see how he does there. He's athletic enough there. Fahn did fine, too. Way too early to know how it will juggle around.

This isn't the answer anyone wants to hear but I like all three quarterbacks right now. Chad was comfortable out there, more comfortable than maybe I expected him to be. We didn't get to see the other two have to make too many reads, but we'll get all three ready and see how the game goes. Chad will start the game. I like all three. They played well as a unit.

Whether we prepared Laquon adequately to play the game Saturday is a question. He needed live reps.

Time will tell when we separate quarterbacks. It wouldn't surprise me if we had a package for all three. And let them hone in on what those packages are. I wouldn't hesitate to play any of them.

Don't know whether Laremy will play this weekend.

Sean Rawlings played more plays than anyone on the offensive line and grade was average. It was average because we may have played him too many plays. Bridges was solid. We had some cramps at corners. Bridges played about 40 snaps. Others played in the 20s. We missed 16 tackles in the game. That's too many. Could be a product of not tackling much in practice.

DK Buford has natural vision and balance. Tee Shepard played well in the first game in a long time for him.

Laremy is one of my favorite kids and I love him dearly. We don't talk about the situation a whole lot. I had to communicate to him we are going to be very cautious and sit him out and it hurts a guy like him. No indication of how many games it could go.

Will Few was very good at long snapper.

Would "have to feel very comfortable that program was not at risk" before deciding whether to play Laremy before getting an NCAA answer.

CJ Johnson is ready to go this week. Will evaluate CJ Hampton was the week goes on. "Feel pretty good" about him playing Saturday.

Planned all along to play Ross Donelly, forgot to tell the media.
