Sorry. I need to vent here. Two things recently irked me.
My father died in 2017. A lady whose husband was in my parents’ wedding still sends Christmas cards (and a ridiculously bragging letter) to Mom every year. She addresses it to both of them. They know he died. They came to his funeral! But every year she sends the card addressed to “John + Jane Doe” even though Mom has been a widow for 7 years as of last fall (not their actual names). Am I wrong or is that rather disrespectful?
What is up with people still making Facebook birthday posts for folks that have passed away? A buddy I grew up with died a few years ago in his late 30s. Never married. Never had kids. His birthday was yesterday. And there were people who actually posted “Happy birthday! I hope it’s a good one.” Now there were plenty of “Happy Birthday, we miss you” posts. But posting happy birthday with acknowledgment that the person is no longer with us shows how little some people actually mean with their birthday wishes.

Sorry l just had to put that somewhere
