What are we doing? It’s Thursday and there’s no SB food thread.
I’m going to church, I doubt I’ll watch more than the last few minutes. I don’t really care who wins… but I like food.
Here’s what I’d fix if I were making SB food:
1. MethamphetiWings - Double fried Asian wings. I toss mine with a sauce of siracha, honey mustard and cattleman’s gold sauce. Recipe also works if you’re just doing fried chicken legs or thighs.
2. Cajun Cocaine Bread - get a loaf of French bread ($1 at Walmart). Set the oven to 350°. Cut the loaf in half length wise. Put some type of oily substance in the bread. Either butter, Ghee… the recipe calls for mayonnaise. It needs to be oil based so the bread won’t get too soggy. Get a little toast on it but not much. You’re just giving it a head start.
2 tbsp butter melted, a sweet onion chopped and sautéed. Cut up some andouille and cook with the onions. Add a block of cream cheese, a cup and a half of Monterey Jack cheese, and a half cup of good grated Parmesan cheese. Add Cajun seasoning to your taste and add 1 lb of crawfish tails. Mix in a handful of chopped parsley.
Put the mix on the bread. Take the remaining 1/2 cup of Monterey Jack cheese and some of the grated parm and sprinkle it over the top. Back in the oven and cook until cheese on top melts and slightly browns. Keep an eye on the bread that it doesn’t over toast.
When done sprinkle some chopped green onions and chopped parsley on it.
If you make both… go ahead and dial 91 in advance so you can just hit the 1 as you pass out.
