Capitalizing on Swift

Since Kiffin loves Taylor Swift, and she will still be rolling on tour next year AND she has crossed over into football consciousness. Why not have a Taylor Swift themed night for one of the games like Georgia Southern. Heck, you may could even get her to record a short Are You Ready? Given you’d be dedicating a themed game to her. Play all her music, yadda yadda. Every wife, daughter, girlfriend would make sure that game was sold out.

OT - Sleeping On The Couch?

So the other day I was listening to one of the MPW podcasts and someone joked about the wife making the husband sleep on the couch and I was wondering, is that a real thing in some homes?

Because, when I was (still happily) married, (mid 80's to mid 90's) we got into a tiff (over something silly and soon and long ago forgotten) and my wife tried to pull that on me. I laughed and told her that she watched too much tv. I informed her that if she didn't want me to touch her that night, okay no problem, but I had paid for the bed and I was damn sure sleeping in the bed. If she wanted to go sleep on the couch, hey more power to her. Note: we both slept in the bed and everything was all great by the next evening.

I mean, who does that? Is that a real thing in some homes... where you the hubby will go sleep on the couch if your wife tells you to?

Kids and Cell Phones…

Do any parents on here regret giving their kids phones at an early age?
Any advice cause the thought scares me to death. My 6 year old daughter already knows how to text her grandmother. She knows how to use predictive text, and take a photo.
Obviously I won’t be able to shield her from everything but I can decide when the appropriate time is for her to have a phone of her own.
I also understand now there are so many limitations you can put on a phone to help know what’s going on, but just generally, am I wrong for wanting to wait well into her teen years?
On another note, why do so many kids love YouTube?

OT: Circle & Square Present Wrapping

Tonight & tomorrow night from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Circle & Square in Oxford will have someone wrapping presents ($5 for small presents & $10 for large presents). If you’re subpar at present wrapping & don’t want to hear any negative comments made about your last minute attempts to wrap your wife’s gift, come on out! Doesn’t hurt to have a local beer while you’re at it.

OT: Show your top 1-2 trophies from hunting/fishing

It’s slow and I’m seeing more hunting threads so why not. It’s been a few years but here are mine.

I’ll post my best buck and best fish to get things started. Both have a unique story so I will add that as well. Figured stories may make anyone’s photos a little more interesting.

Buck: I was hoping the rut had finally kicked in and I was trying all kinds of things to bring one in that I had on camera. They weren’t coming to corn, so I thought I’d try to lure them in with the lil’ can. One and only time was able to call one in with it. He came in like a bull in a China cabinet making all kind of noise but he was behind me with my back to a tree. He finally snorted and stomped enough walking to the side of me and it was easy at that point.

Bass: family pond that was in south Arkansas and we had this weird storm that came over and this one hooked on and hardly fought much harder than a 1-2 pounder. Lost the fish (stored in freezer) in a power outage before it could be saved or I would have mounted it since it’s biggest bass i’ve caught.
