Some of you

Have lost your minds. I’ve never seen this level of anxiety here before. Calm down. Stop with the scenarios. We are in the damn thing if we win these last 2 games. The only, and I mean only scenario we should be pulling against is a 8-9 matchup at Bama. Not that we can’t beat them but, historically Lane tries too hard in that game. But the goal was playoffs or bust. We win these last 2 and that goal is met. Enjoy it

Colorado and Deion in the playoffs

If Colorado wins out (which they have a good chance of) they are in playoffs. It will be awesome to have Deion's personality, Travis Hunter and Shadeur Sanders in the playoffs. The NCAA is loving it. Hate him or love him, Deion seems to back up his brash, cocky words. And we all understand that the Big 12 is not great this year, but they played the hand they were dealt. The Colorado offense is really fun to watch. Their WR room might be the best in the country.

Tennessee has had 4 shutout halves of football in SEC play.

They have also had two other games where they have scored 7 or fewer in a half. That’s 6 out of 7 SEC games where their offense just disappears for a full half.

When people say the eye test, that’s what they’re talking about.

They’ve also only had one SEC win by more than 10 points, and 2 of their wins are single score wins.

When their fans start complaining about us, remind them of these things.

We’ve had 2 losses by a combined 6 points, and all 4 of our league wins have been by at least 2 scores.

Ole Miss TV Networks

I know everyone bitches about the time slots. I am guilty of this also, but of our 8 SEC games, we have been on ABC 5 times and ESPN Regular 3 times. Also with 3 ABC games in a row to close out the season. We have not played one league game on SEC Network.

That is pretty good considering we are not the largest audience draw for the league.

Ole Miss vs Tennessee resume

Both beat OU
Both teams have a bad loss - AR and UK. You could argue that the UK loss was worse since it was at home and UK is worse than AR.
OM beat AR and UT beat UK
Both will beat UF of OM wins next week
Both big wins came at home - AL and UGA
Other loss was on the road for both - LSU and GA
Both will beat MSU. Both at home.
Ole Miss has 2 SEC ranked wins vs only one for UT. One of OM on the road. UT was as home.
Wake Forest beat NC State. Those were the best non conference wins for each team. I dont think this will matter to the committee but since it was on their resume I included it.

Once I broke down their schedules, I give the edge to Ole Miss. But who knows what the committee will do.

Poll time. Football gods offer a deal: Ole Miss makes the playoff but must play on the road or Ole Miss makes the SEC Championship. If they win, automatic bye but lose and Ole Miss misses the playoffs.

What say you Rebel Grove?

Here's where Ole Miss football

Ole Miss beat Oklahoma 26-14 on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Ole Miss got off to a slow start but buckled down and excelled in the second half in a wild game that featured a medical emergency, a celebrity and a squirrel that got loose.

Projecting Tuesday’s ranking

I put this in another thread but think it deserves a separate discussion.

This would be my projection for the ranking and then the field this week:

1. Oregon
2. Ohio State
3. Texas
4. Penn State
5. Indiana
6. Notre Dame
7. Alabama
8. Ole Miss
9. Georgia
10. Miami
11. Tennessee
12. SMU
13. Boise State
14. Texas A&M
15. Colorado

Then the playoff goes this way:

1 Oregon vs 8 Notre Dame/9 Alabama

4 Boise State vs 5 Ohio State/12 Colorado

3 Miami vs 6 Penn State/11 Georgia

2 Texas vs 7 Indiana/10 Ole Miss

First two out - Tennessee, SMU

I wouldn’t discount Big 10 and SEC championship losers potentially falling behind us in seeding depending on the scenario, so there are still plenty of chances to shift up some seed lines.
