Todd McShay on Ole Miss

McShay and his co-host did about 15 minutes on OM in their most recent podcast and I highly recommend giving it a listen. They spend half the time talking about our team and national title outlook, and then the last half talking individually about all our different draft prospect on defense. You can tell they’ve watched a lot of film on us the way they talk about the individual player draft profiles. They start talking about us somewhere around the 45 min mark. Overall it’s high praise from a guy who’s spent a lot of time evaluating talent

Warde Manuel… CFB Playoff Committee

Michigan AD and CFP Chairman

Just listened to a question and answer session he did with the media about the latest rankings.

He said the committee was very impressed with the Ole Miss win over Georgia and the South Carolina win is impressive to them as well. Mentioned the Kentucky loss but indicated that the committee was very comfortable with the Ole Miss body of work and their ranking.

He also said that a two loss Georgia would not have been ranked ahead of either Ole Miss or Alabama even though they both have two losses, since both teams beat Georgia. This was in response to how far Georgia fell in the rankings.

After listening to him, I’m very comfortable with the idea that if Ole Miss wins the next two games they are in.

I’m even more convinced that the Georgia win means much more than a Kentucky win would have. Sucks to have lost to Kentucky still but right now there’s no way I’d trade the results of those two games.

Buying Goal Post from Grove Collective

I would like to buy a piece of the goal post as a donation to the Grove Collective, but their website is funky. I already have two accounts under different emails because of past problems. I looked on the site and the goal post is not there. I do have a link by email, but it is to a totally different website which gave me pause before entering CC information. Has anyone bought this yet. It the third party site legit. Were you able to sign in using your existing GC membership? These are questions that we need answered along with is Grover the squirrel a secret agent to get us the NT. . TIA

SEC title game chances

Given the cluster**** of a tiebreaker situation on the horizon, is there any feasible way for Ole Miss to make the SEC title game?

Every bit of research I’ve done speaks glowingly of our chance of making the CFP. That is admittedly far more important.

Just curious if anyone’s figured out what would have to happen for us to wind up in the top 2 of the conference.

More on Hegseth

He wrote a book “the War on Warriors” which was a best seller where he went into detail on corruption and inefficiency in the defense dept. apparently Trump read the book and much of it agreed with his experience with the DOD when he was President. Hegseth’s duty is going to be to fix the DOD, streamline it, and cut waste and defense contract corruption

This new playoff system is a disaster for the SEC...

Big10 has royally screwed everybody in CFB including the SEC. 4 out of the top 5 are Big 10 teams and half of them are shitty.
If a really good SEC team gets lucky, they will get the right to travel up north and play a shitty Big 10 team that isn't close to being in the top 10 teams in the country.
Only SEC catching a break is Texas and they have literally done nothing all year. They beat a really shitty big 10 team to start the year and are still riding that win to this day. They got absolutely smoked by the only good SEC team they faced. Their best win all year is f'n Vandy, who South Carolina just smoked. They have not beaten a single good team and are 0-1 against good teams. But they have a season opening win over a shitty big 10 team so they are golden.

Think about this, SMU has a better resume than Texas. And Miami too for that matter.

All the good SEC teams are sucking hind tit and going on the road to big 10 stadiums (or worse) for the playoffs. Except for the one SEC team who hasn't beaten anybody and got smoked by the one decent team they faced. They get a buy then host.
Ole Miss going to Penn St. and Bama going to Indiana? UGA/Tenn going to Notre Dame? GTFO. Miami and BYU getting first round byes?

What a sh**show we came up with. We sure are on a heater lately. Just stacking screwups.

One Time Donation for Caleb Cunningham and Georgia Win

One time donation link
Here’s a step by step of how to give a one time donation to The Grove Collective. It’s fairly simple, and allows you to use Apple Pay for a really quick transaction. There is also a pledge per point campaign going on where you can have the amount of points scored auto-drafted from your account after each game. For those who may not want to do that, I’ll be bumping this thread after every game moving forward. With a top 3 coach in all of college football, there is zero time to get complacent with our NIL. We have the infrastructure in place to be elite for a long time - let’s take full advantage.

Post your donations below and I will choose a poster to gift a Genteal Polo of their choice at regular seasons’s end - I’ll start with donating last week’s score and urge anyone who is excited about this season to do the same.

Men’s golf adds two signees

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's golf head coach Chris Malloy announced the addition of Daniel Tolf and Finn Meister as the newest members of the Rebel golf family on Wednesday.

“We are incredibly excited to officially welcome Daniel and Finn to our Ole Miss family,” head coach Chris Malloy said. “There is no doubt that both of these young men will make a tremendous impact to the future of our program. We can’t wait to get them on campus in the fall and get to business.”

A native of Gothenburg, Sweden, Tolf becomes just the sixth international signee in the Chris Malloy era. Tolf attends Kitas Gymnasium and is a current member of the Swedish National Team. He boasts an impressive amateur resume with 19 top 10 finishes and three victories.

Tolf won the 2023 Stetson Sunesson Junior Challenge by seven strokes after posting a three-round score of 221. He added a tie for ninth at the 2023 R&A Boys Amateur Championship and back-to-back top five finishes at the 2024 Campeonato Internacional de Espana U18 and the Svenska Juniortouren Elit #6.

Hailing from the west coast, Finn Meister will come to Oxford from Tucson, Arizona. He attends Catalina Foothills High School and is the No. 2 recruit in Arizona based on Junior Golf Scoreboard.

Meister currently sits as the 119th best amateur according to the American Junior Golf Association with one win and top 10 finish. He qualified and competed in the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour event in Colorado - The Ascendant presented by Blue. Meister was a winner at the 2024 AJGA Jim Click Automotive/HSL Properties Championship presented by the Tucson Conquistadores with a score of 202 (-14).

The two new standouts will make their way to Oxford and begin competition for the Rebels in August 2025
