FOOTBALL: Lane Kiffin Sunday quick hits (audio only)

We did a lot of really good things. Really dominant defensive front performance. Georgia has two really good backs that made some yards against unblocked players. Special running backs. Ole Miss challenged defensive line and told them they needed to dominate. They did just that.

Offensively, put the ball in Dart’s hands a lot until the fourth quarter. Made explosive plays. Georgia had given up 23 20-yard-plus plays through eight games. Ole Miss had eight on Saturday. That was a big key because it’s hard to grind it out against them.

Really special day and the film matched it. Dominant performance. Three-score win. Pretty neat place to be. Long way from last year in Athens. Schematically, spent a lot of time preparing for Georgia.

Now have to get healthy. Have to find a way to run the ball better. Going to have to be creative there, get healthy with Tre Harris, take advantage of bye week and get healthy.

Open week comes at a great time. Would be hard to emotionally rally right now. Gives Harris and Dart an extra week.

Offensive line has been getting better in pass protection, both in identification and the physical part. Still lack movement at times in the run game. Georgia has a good defense that does a lot of good things. Lot of credit to the coaches for having a good plan. Wasn’t a high play-count game, not a lot of long series. Now, when they get tired, they just bring out the squirrel (he was joking, obviously).

Did a lot for recruiting. Didn’t realize it during a game but learned it was impactful afterwards. Expecting a really good 48 hours in recruiting. Kids saw that everything was in Oxford. They were able to show it instead of just saying it.

Hoping Logan Diggs can add something down the stretch. Said he thought about that a lot Sunday morning. What would it look like with Tre out there and Logan Diggs out there?

Cayden Lee is playing through injuries, doing an amazing job, beating some really good DBs. Hoping this week off will help him. They call him Woody Harrelson, referencing White Men Can't Jump, meaning he doesn't look like somebody who could be a dangerous receiver.

Going to work hard and practice. Won’t be violently physical but they’re going to look at some schemes and such this week. The Tre Harris injury has been “good” because it forced creativity, though they obviously are hoping he returns.

Stadium moving in Georgia game.

A friend of mine is one of the stat guys for Ole Miss. He has held that position every season for the past 38 years, except for the COVID season. He posted this on a private board:

Sitting in the press box following the Saunders interception we all looked at each other and someone said do you feel that?
The press box was moving and we were kind of swaying ever so slightly from the crowd movement.
It was like a slight earthquake.
I have never in 37 years felt the press box move like it did Saturday.

Arguing with Texas fan friend

He always says Dart is trash so I brought up how Ewers is dropping down draft boards. I pointed out to him that Dart’s season with 2 games to go is statistcally better than any season from Quinn’s career. Anyone else think Dart has more pro potential than Ewers? Other than the deep ball the kid is immobile and very meh. Just my ‘pinion.

Florida game

If you're on the fence about going, we need as many Rebs in Gainesville as we can get. This is the game for the playoff--we are going to beat MSU to sleep on Black Friday.

Tickets in the lower level, near the OM section in the endzone are $90. Make plans to go now, tickets will only get cheaper as the game gets closer since it's 11 AM. Come without tickets and pick some up for $75 on the morning of the game. Just get there. We need a showing like we had last year in Starkville where we had 40% of the away side.

Ole Miss still has some in section 47 if you want to buy through OM.

Sorry if already posted. I didn’t see it on the first page but this popped up on the Twitter feed.

Maybe it’s just the red and blue glasses? But I also thought the same thing when he was at ND.

Is he the whiniest coach in the NCAA? Sure some coaches have moments. But I swear Everytime they show him during a game he’s whining to a ref or complaining about something in a press conference. It’s glorious to see as well as annoying.

Currently loving the LSU fan base tears as they realize their beloved tigers won’t be in the first 12 team playoff though.
