Wild Turkey Rye 101

Been going back through all the Turkey stuff recently since it’s been years and holy hell their Rye 101 is very good for $20 a bottle. I’ve used for cocktails mainly but poured one over rocks earlier to sip on and it’s pretty damn solid. I like the Rare Bread Rye but it has that turkey funk some people don’t like, this doesn’t. It’s a barely legal rye. I’ve paid $60-80 for bottles recently not any better.

Daily used to be Willet Rye but price increases are a joke. Not sure this will be my daily but can’t believe they sell this for $20. Favorite Rye is still a secret from a small distillery in KY that gets amazing MGP stuff.

The last time I posted about underrated cheap bourbons those two became impossible to get. The latest was Evan Williams SB which is now only available in Kentucky.

Hunters/Shooters GITT.

Going after work to dial in a new scope on a Winchester model 70 30.06. Using 150 grain on a 3x9x40 Leupold. Whats the metrics on a 25 yards shot for 200ish? That’s the only range/size I can get to today unfortunately. It doesn’t have to be PERFECT but I’ve got a couple of stands with that range of a shot on the farm. Want to take the gun this wkd if possible.

Always heard 1.5” high at 50 is zero at 200. Thoughts?

“Be A Man” Traditionalist and Modernists debate Masculinity

I thought this was an interesting debate that had representation from as many angles as possible. The people involved also do a pretty good job of discussing the issues and not yelling at each other or otherwise being disrespectful. It’s worth watching the whole video, or at least a majority of it.

I just finished the entire series for Red Rising. Whoever first recommended the series, thanks. It was awesome. Just waiting for Pierce Brown to publish Red God now.

Any recommendations that would scratch the itch left from Red Rising?

Other books I have finished recently:
