is certainly understandable. He prob isn't crowned the starting qb next fall and would face strong competition. He may or may not win it and if he did, there would be playing time for Ta'amu. I wouldn't bet on his departure to the nfl after 3 either. There are several things on the future will tell so if he thinks transferring is best, maybe it is. No hard feelings, he brought us a ton of talent who is staying.

Patterson has gone from being the best QB in the country in the eyes of OM homers to not even best on his team in less than a season.

And he was investigating transfer options at least 10 months ago. Maybe sooner.

blindsideheckler gone from being an asshole in the eyes of OM. To be a
GAINT asshole in their eyes. This 10 year old has nothing else to do.

Furthermore he can't read and comprehend. He might be 10 years old but mind of a 5 year old. Definitely slow-minded.

'Slow-minded' smack from the guy that was completely fooled by Freeze's religious act. That's rich!

Shea will most likely be a Wolverine soon. The fortunate thing for Ole Miss is that they have a very capable QB who can replace Shea. If there are players who do not want to be on a team, then they should be let go. Their attitudes can be crippling to the team.

In this case, the players have a very valid reason to want to leave. Let's not act like these are malcontents and that Ole Miss is guiltless.

Wrong. He was not the best at OM even though he was playing. That’s why he is not getting his job back.

OM is just as guilty as all the other sec teams.

Yes in this case. Just because they are not under investigation doesn’t make them innocent.

In this case, it does.

The players wanting to transfer are mostly coming from the 2016 class. OM received a NOA about 10 days before NSD, and apparently wasn't upfront with that and what it entailed with the recruits that ended up signing with OM.

That's a big part of the reason why they want out, and you can't blame them for that. That's why I said it's silly to imply that these kids are malcontents and that OM is guiltless.

No, there are plenty of the 2016 class that are happy at OM. The reason they want out is because they are not getting enough playing time. And there is a reason for that. And that reason is they are not good enough to play first team and sometimes second team.

Haha....this is why I told omplata that most OM fans here don't want the facts, they want to be lied to.

You want to be told that these kids are just troublemakers and quitters, and that OM is blameless.

Haha....ok then.

Ok, so you think OM did nothing to any of these players, never misrepresented the ongoing investigation to them, and they are all malcontents. Fine.

If all that is true, then the blame is then on Ole Miss' coaches for doing a poor job with player evaluations if all they were doing is signing a bunch of malcontents that, in your opinion, weren't good enough to start, so they wanted to quit.

Either way, Ole Miss gets the blame, just depends on what for. The idea that these kids will get all the blame and OM gets a pass would only fly to an Ole Miss homer. Everyone else knows why all these kids want to leave.
There are players on ALL teams that have second and third team players. Doesn’t mean they are malcontents and doesn’t mean coaches did a bad job. They get discouraged because of lack of playing time and they transfer. This happens to many many players all over the country every year. Nothing unusual. The misrepresentation, if there was any, but so says the NCAA, was an easy excuse for them to leave. If what you say is true, then why are we not having a lot of seniors and first team players leaving? When about one third to one half of the OM team starts requesting to transfer, then I will agree with you.

The situation at OM, as of now, is not nearly as bad as the rest of the sec and the and sports media want it to be.

Halpro, you're arguing with a fool. Just don't respond he won't go away but it makes him cry to his mommy.

Ah I forgot, everyone is overreacting and Ole Miss is again being victimized.

Media out to get Ole Miss, NCAA out to get Ole Miss, SEC out to get Ole Miss.

Or maybe Ole Miss made a lot of bad decisions that led to them getting punished?

Haha.....carry on.

Have you even read the NOA and responses? Are you even aware the recruit claiming the damning pay for play testimony confessed at the COI that the money actually came from a MS State Booster/parent? The only reason the NCAA slapped OM with a two year bowl ban was so that they could show some sense of strength to the outside world after an almost 5 year witch hunt. While we made some mistakes, this investigation was a complete over reach. They did more damage than the sanctions with the way they slow played the entire process. We’ve paid 5-fold already for the level of few true infractions OM committed. We are moving forward and looking to the future which is obviously what concerns you by your continued presence on this board. Go home bulldog.

Haha....and there it is.
Sounds to me your either Shea's father or brother and trying to make excuses for him and the other 3rd stringers that want to leave so they can actually play somewhere..... lol ok we will listen....

Haha so now Shea was down to 3rd string?

They can't cut the heat when things get a little choppy tells me all I want to know about these kids and how they were raised. I would never offer them a job knowing this is their character and morals bye losers.. I bet most of them that transfer want amount to shit and will be in trouble with the law when the real world hits them square in the mouth.....

Ok, so now that you've established that you think that these kids have trash character and morals.....just because they want to transfer.....doesn't that mean that Ole Miss' coaches are trash at evaluating the character and morals of recruits? You say that you would never offer them a job, but Freeze and his staff DID offer them all a scholarship.

What's your spin for that?

Freeze is fired am I correct. He did find a few good kids that have integrity and morals that are committed to the university and their fellow team mates I see. If I’m not mistaken why didn’t more transfer, could it be that their parents raised them to stick to a commitment even when things get shakey. That to me speaks volumes on character ( these transfers will always run when adversity strikes and thats the way I look at it....)

Joe Milton a Mich qb commit said his Mom taught him not to run from a little adversity when he learned of Shea's signing and he's NOT. Wish we had him. I have faith in Harbaugh;<)

Ok let's try this: If Freeze lied to Patterson about the NCAA investigation, do you think Patterson should still stand by his commitment, even though he committed based on a lie by Freeze?

So you hate Patterson for transferring and insult him as being a quitter, but you'd love it if Milton would transfer to OM.

Cannot make this stuff up. LOL

Wrong. He was not the best at OM even though he was playing. That’s why he is not getting his job back.

Patterson averaged 323 yards passing a game, Taamu averaged 210.

Patterson had 17 passing TDs in 7 games, Taamu had 11 in 8.

Patterson had 18 total TDs in 7 games, Taamu had 11 in 8.

Tell me how you get that Taamu was better.

Man please give it a break. These kids knew we were under investigation everyone in the world knew it. How do you know Freeze lied were you at ever meeting? If so enlighten me on what he was told.... This is an excuse for these players because someone else is better than them and they know it. Plus the bowl ban is in appeal and the penalties aren't bad. Further more Shea said if Luke isn't the head coach he is leaving, well Luke is the head coach and he is still leaving... keep trying to justify their actions....

I'm the one being rational, you're the one trying to justify.

Let's see.......I can either blame the 17 year-old kids, or I can blame the ENTIRE coaching staff EVERY MEMBER OF WHICH was hit with a SHOW CAUSE.

Yeah, I think I'll assume the coaches weren't upfront with them. And as for your spin that they are leaving cause their backups were better, Patterson had a much better season than Taamu had, it's not even close.

Stop being a homer.

If every member was given a show cause, why is Luke still there along with half the staff? Here's the deal, when these kids were recruited the investigation was going on. They were told it was going on but that it wasn't that big of a deal. The first LOI comes in and it really isn't that big of a deal. The coaches informed them of what they knew at the time. Remember the investigation was reopened after these kids were already enrolled and on campus. You can spin it how you want to but since little nikki at bammer is against transfers being given waivers because they were "misled" it's a very good chance that these kids aren't getting waivers. If the NCAA does so and then denies ones in the future they will get their ass sued every time a kid is told he will get playing time and doesn't then denies his transfer waiver.

Ole Miss has already said every player on its roster can transfer without restriction. Patterson was the only one that had any qualifiers.

I'll believe the kids and the NCAA over the school that just got hit with massive sanctions for cheating.

Yes, the university isn't putting any restrictions. The NCAA still has it's rules though. Player who will be seniors can go with no issues. Underclassman have to apply for a waiver to play right away. These waivers probably won't be granted.

Taamu only played in 5 games.
