OT: Dental insurance and out of network dentist

What is the benefit of staying with a dentist who is out of network for ALL insurance carriers? Are there any benefits for the patient?
Work switched over last year to Delta Dental. Our out of pocket costs went up noticeably. (The balance from my wife’s cleaning last month is $150!!) We had paid a little bit after visits for years but it was small enough to deal with it. I went for a cleaning today. She started to do an Xray but I said let’s wait until next time. I told her our out of pockets costs went up this year so I hope it will be better in the spring. She said I understand but we are out of network with all dental insurance carriers. I said what?!? She made it sound like they have been out of network for years. I asked why. She said they feel in the long run, it will save the customer money, because they aren’t incentivized to do extra and sometimes unnecessary work. It doesn’t pass the smell test to me.

HOOPS: Dia named to watchlist

Malik Dia Selected to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame continues to unveil their watch lists for their “Naismith Starting 5” awards for the 2024-25 season, picking the top 20 for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year on Friday and selecting Ole Miss’ Malik Dia to the list.
The Belmont transfer was a third-team all-conference selection last year and was named to the MVC All-Newcomer team, averaging 16.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 48.8 percent from the field. In his first action in an Ole Miss uniform, Dia paced the Rebels in their exhibition with No. 24 Illinois after scoring 18 points while going 7-8 from the field in 19 minutes.

Past winners of the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award include Zach Edey, Oscar Tshiebwe, Luka Garza, and Frank Kaminsky.

Dia is joined on the preseason watch list by Hunter Dickinson of Kansas, Ryan Kalkbrenner of Creighton, Oumar Ballo of Indiana, and more of college basketball’s top players.

OT: Realtors on the board

Got a question for you..

Wife and I make an offer on a house. The seller comes back and says doesn’t want to make it contingent upon appraisal. Wife and I then say no deal and walked away from it. So seller reaches back out this morning via his agent says he will accept our deal the way we have it written in the contract if we still wanted the house. We accept via our agent. So our agent and his agent have a text where she states he will accept our offer if we will still wanted the house. Our agent tells her we agree. She said deal and he said let me send an updated contract with today’s date. She says perfect. We all are at church before we can sign the ratified contract with today’s date she text back and said she got a verbal offer on the house. Our agent says sign this contract asap so we did. Now the seller has accepted the other offer after we sent in the signed contract. My question is this legal or does the seller have to sell us the house.

Top 20 games this week:

Sharing this as a guide for viewing this weekend:

AM window
Purdue @ (3) Ohio State -38.0
(4) Miami -12.5 @ Georgia Tech
Florida @ (5) Texas -21.5

Mid-day window
(2) Georgia -2.5 @ (16) Ole Miss
Michigan @ (8) Indiana -13.5
(17) Iowa State -3.5 @ Kansas
(18) Army -5.5 @ North Texas
(19) Clemson -6.5 @ Virginia Tech

PM Window
Maryland @ (1) Oregon -25.0
Mississippi St @ (7) Tennessee -24.0
FSU @ (10) Notre Dame -24.5
(11) Alabama -2.5 @ (14) LSU
Nevada @ (12) Boise State -25.5
Washington @ (6) Penn State -13.5
(9) BYU -4.5 @ Utah
Utah State @ (20) Washington State -20.5

Obviously, none of us will care if our game doesn’t go the right way, but if we win, then the Penn State, BYU, Miami, and Indiana are all potential chaos plays based on those lines.

It’s becoming more apparent every week…

That everyone in college football stinks (except Indiana, Army, and Pavia). Team ranked No. 8 is no different than team ranked no. 20 who is no different than team ranked no. 44. They’re all the same.

PennSt must have looked at zero Oregon vs. Ohio State film. Never threw to their WRs. Cignetti will attack them deep and outside relentlessly and Rourke doesn’t miss. And Indiana is playing with so much confidence right now they think they can beat Mahomes.

Next Saturday….

Just feels like it’s going to be one of those games where everything just clicks at the right time. It feels like it’s going to be one of those days where the coaching staff calls a perfect game, the offense is firing on all cylinders, the defense is going to continue to play lights out and the crowd is going to have an effect on the game. Saturday afternoon will be a playoff atmosphere and it’s a chance for Lane to officially put OM in the National title picture! It’s goosebump time in Oxford MS next Saturday!

We need chaos to make the Playoffs

Even if we win out and go 10-2, we need these teams in other conferences like Iowa State, BYU, Notre Dame to lose. They don’t play anybody but they’ll likely get in undefeated over us at 10-2. If everything stands the way it is, we won’t get in. We also need 1 loss SEC teams to lose games as well. We need to hope Texas tech can take down Iowa state today, hope South Carolina can knock off A&M. It’s a real stretch that I don’t see happening but if Kentucky could pull a miracle against UT that would help a lot.

I’ve seen a lot of celebrities promising to leave the country if Trump wins, so was interested to see what RG will do if he loses.
