Some interesting matchup stats for this weekend:

I can’t run conference only because the official site is messed up for conference only stats. So we are stuck with yearly which, of course, has its flaws. But I think it gives a good idea of where the game will be decided — who can limit the other through the air the most. Ground game for both appears to be a wash.

Run Game:
OM D: 1st in SEC. 4 TD
UGA O: 15th in SEC, 15TD

UGA D: 4th in SEC, 8 TD, 5 INT

Scoring Offense and Defense:

iPad Usage in College Football per an Unusual News Outlet..

Interesting stuff about how game action ends up on tablets... and what conferences use the technology..

One could say "well, the NFL uses the same technology with Microsoft Surface tablets"... True, but still an interesting look at how th8ngs are actually done:

Boise State could get a bye.

I just saw this, and it hadn’t crossed my mind.

The top 4 seeds go to the Top 4 ranked conference champions.

If and when BYU takes a loss, there is a decent chance that Boise State is ranked ahead of the entire Big 12 conference.

If they finish out winning the rest, and the Big 12 champion is ranked lower, then the Big 12 champion is going to end up as that 12 seed, and Boise State would be the 4.

Just Looking Over the Latest NCAA Stats..

The OM defense leads all FBS teams in total tackles for loss... 94 in nine games.. Duke is #2 with 77 TFLs..

The only other SEC teams in the top ten are Oklahoma with 72 TFLs.. South Carolina with 63 TFLs and Tennessee with 62 TFLs..

OM is the BCS leader with 41 sacks.. Boise State is #2 with 38.. South Carolina has 31.. Oklahoma 29.. LSU 28..

As far as third down conversion defense, Tennessee is #1, allowing 24.3% conversions... Mizzou #4 at 28.0%.. Georgia #6 at 28.3%... Texas #7 at 28.4%.. OM #9 at 29.4%...

There are a gazillion different stats out there, but having lived through the Wesley McGriff defenses, it's nice to see some degree of stoppage by this defense...

OT: Dental insurance and out of network dentist

What is the benefit of staying with a dentist who is out of network for ALL insurance carriers? Are there any benefits for the patient?
Work switched over last year to Delta Dental. Our out of pocket costs went up noticeably. (The balance from my wife’s cleaning last month is $150!!) We had paid a little bit after visits for years but it was small enough to deal with it. I went for a cleaning today. She started to do an Xray but I said let’s wait until next time. I told her our out of pockets costs went up this year so I hope it will be better in the spring. She said I understand but we are out of network with all dental insurance carriers. I said what?!? She made it sound like they have been out of network for years. I asked why. She said they feel in the long run, it will save the customer money, because they aren’t incentivized to do extra and sometimes unnecessary work. It doesn’t pass the smell test to me.
