Well, the numbers are in. And people aren't watching near enough to make up for the inconvenience of a short prep week.

2.29M viewers, good enough for 13th place for the week in CFB. Almost doubled by Nebraska/Iowa. Say what? And that 13th place is on the heels of 15th place last year and 14th place the year before.

You want to know what our numbers are bad? We went head to head with the NFL (where you will always lose). Almost 25M people watched the 49ers and Seahawks. That means for every 1 person watching the Egg Bowl, there are 11 watching the NFL game.

I wish our TV partners would just give up on Thanksgiving, and hammer Friday and Saturday. There will be 8 games. Play 4 each day and spread them out. SEC football from 11:00 to 10:00 2 days in a row, and they're all rivalry games. Give Thursday to the NFL. And hope that the NFL doesn't figure out this Thanksgiving Friday deal.

I watched the “Bye Bye Barry” documentary on Barry Sanders (highly recommend), and it got me thinking about teams that replaced an incredible graduating player with another incredible player at the same position.

Thurman Thomas was a Heisman finalist in 1987 at Oklahoma State and then Barry Sanders won the Heisman in 1988. That’s pretty incredible to have those guys back to back.

Who are the best back to back players in overall college football history and in Ole Miss history?

Without digging further into stats, I’ll go with Thomas/Sanders overall and Treadwell followed by AJ Brown for OM.

I’ve been convinced for sometime this game will not be out soon and it may not come out for a very long time.

Now we have some more pricks trying to mess it up for everybody. NIL is of the devil.

Has there been any chatter lately for the mens game going to quarters like the rest of all other basketball leagues? I assumed when the women’s game went to it men would be a couple years later. But none the less here we are still playing 20 minute Half’s 🤦‍♂️

in a situation where you have to spend your money wisely between HS players to develop and transfer portal to make your immediate roster strong seems like you would prioritize HS DT, DE, OL as the positions you are going to have to pay up every year to get them in the program and keep them.

The other positions, you’ve been able to build out pretty well through portal.

I’m in a healthy debate with my Memphis friends about them all wanting Silverfield to leave or be fired. Meanwhile all their booster give all their money to Penny to recruit two number one classes in five years and only one tournament win in that timeframe. I’ve been telling them Silverfield does more with less and they love penny and absolute despise Silverfield. What’s y’all’s take?

Just saw a tweet by Brad Logan that the game is sold out. Atmosphere should be electric, I feel like the Pavilion is slept on as a venue. Hopefully it ends up being a really good game and we get the win.
