Hearing the Aggies have their guy will let him finish the season before announcing (Elko)

Could be Kiffin, Lanning, Elko, Traylor, Elko, Leopold, Norvell

Update.....Elko is the guy. However the coaches that previously were looked at could reach out and change things.

No chance.....Sanders and Dan Campbell

Not saying this is a fact, just passing on information from a couple of friends that are mid range Aggie boosters.

Something to remember with basketball

It took Bruce Pearl 3 years to break through at Auburn. And they didn’t show improvement each year.

It took Buzz Williams 3 years to break through at Texas A&M (2 if you count the NIT run as a success)

It took Ben Howland 3 years to break through at State, despite recruiting at a high level.

It took Frank Martin 4 years to have his 1 run at South Carolina.

These were all successful coaches who didn’t win immediately. It took time. And more than 1 bad season. I thought Neal and Chase were spot on during todays pod…fans needs to guard against unrealistic expectations.

Here’s the good news. I think Beard is a better coach than any of those (Pearl and Buzz being close). And the transfer portal should allow for quicker rebuilds. Guys like Gates, Oats, and Muss have enjoyed quick success. But they also have a lot of NIL to work with….

I think Beard can get it done. He needs NIL though. If he doesn’t get that, it may be a slower build than some might think.

Playoff & NY6 bowl Predictions

Playoffs

Championship: UGA vs Michigan

Rose: Michigan vs Florida St
Sugar: UGA vs Oregon

NY6 Bowls:
Fiesta: Alabama vs Washington
Orange: Louisville vs Ohio St
Peach: Tulane vs Mizzou
Cotton: Texas vs Ole Miss

Orange is required to take a B10 team or an SEC team. The rest are at large bids. Ole Miss jumps Penn Astro get the bid for a NY6 Bowl!

NY6 scenario

The committee will take a group of 5 team and they are required to take an ACC team in the Orange bowl, hence Louisville assuming FSU makes the playoff. By that math, wouldn’t we be selected as long as we’re in the top 10? The field is 12 including the playoff selections. We should be up to 11 with Oregon State and Louisville likely taking another loss in next 2 weeks. Sounds like we need one other upset to achieve that scenario.

Neal/Luker

@Neal McCready @Michael Luker

Zach Berry on TOS is clamimg Luker has been plagiarizing/stealing his recruiting nuggets and he started a thread about it and is sending screenshots around to his buddies and people in the business trying to throw ML under the bus.

Have yall heard or seen this? If you hadn't, thought you should be aware of it and be able to defend yourself.

In the "Spirit" of competition amongst the recruiting beats, I find this new rumor to be quite interesting coming from that side.

With some at Ark wanting Malzahn, is Rhett Lashlee not the compromise?

He played for Malzahn in high school in Arkansas, followed him to Arkansas. Knows his playbook better than anyone. Has evolved his schemes much better with times…

And those that don’t want Malzahn, it’s because of old bad blood, that he’s a retread, that he’s not lighting world on fire at UCF. That he seems to be set in his ways on scheme. That he can’t develop a passing game.

Looks like a still young coach with a lot to prove in Rhett Lashlee, who is winning at SMU, would be a serious candidate at Arkansas.. ?

Now granted, I think Lashlee would have a hard decision because smu is a great job in joining the ACC and having things rolling, including with NIL, but if Clemson, UNC, FSU, Virginia, NCSU leave.. then SMU is left with a bunch of private schools in a conference not as good as the Big 12.

Why are you going away from Pittman? What’s his weakness? He was never a coordinator, he’s never been a playcaller on either side of the ball. He has risen and fallen with the quality of his coordinators running a unit. Lashlee is a longtime coordinator. I think it’s safe to say his offense will never fully implode.

Didn’t Lashlee and Malzahn have some sort of falling out? Or did Lashlee just need to spread his wings? I can’t remember. What was the parting there?
