SEC Champ loser

In this new dynamic, wont the loser of the sec champ usually miss out on the playoffs?

I know it has benefited us to get into the sugar and peach but still seems unfair. To run an sec gauntlet and lose the last game before the committee votes. A regular season first or second place SEC team getting jumped by a 4th or 5th place SEC team or worse … a 3/4 place big 10 team.

Any scenario where LSU could make the SEC Championship Game?

They have 2 - conference losses...Same as us, UGA, Bama, & Mizzou...A&M, Tenn, & Texas have 1-loss...

A&M & Texas play each other, which will result in another 2-loss team...Should Tenn lose to UGA next week, we can add another 2-loss team to the mix.

Would hate to see LSU qualify for the SEC Championship, and somehow find a way to win...They would them qualify for the playoff as the SEC Champion.

Games to watch during the bye week:

Early window:
3 Texas (-15) @ Arkansas

Mid-day window:
BC @ 13 SMU (-15)
21 LSU (-5) @ Florida
Virginia @ 8 Notre Dame (-22.5)

Evening window:
14 Boise State (-13.5) @SJSU
1 Oregon (-13.5) @ Wisconsin
6 Tennessee @ 11 Georgia (-9)
Kansas @ 7 BYU (-3.5)

Starting from the top, that Texas-Arkansas line is closer than you might have expected.

For BYU, Notre Dame, SMU, and Boise State, you want those teams taking losses, so that they either miss the playoff or guarantee the lesser leagues only get 1 bid.

That Oregon line caught me, because it’s closer than I would’ve guessed. Anyone ahead of us that might lose can help.

For LSU, I would like to see them take another loss just to rule out any backdoor chance for them to win a tiebreaker and make the SEC title game.

Tennessee-Georgia is obvious, and I think there are scenarios either way that help us out.

LSU Tiger Imposter.....

Last night, LSU officials rolled a caged tiger to the sidelines during pre-game festivities at the Bama-LSU game...

First time a tiger has been displayed on the sidelines since 2015...

Well, turns out the tiger was not Mike the VII who lives in a sanctuary home across from Tiger Stadium.. It was an import from a sanctuary in Florida.. Not THE Tiger mascot..

I can remember OM games dating back to the mid 70s when LSU officials would park the tiger cage next to the visiting players' field entrance.. LSU cheerleaders would then coax the tiger to roar at visiting fans before kickoff... then tow the cage off the field...

Obligatory thread to give credit to the coaches

I was outspoken in my displeasure with the return on investment earlier in the year. I was supportive of those who withdrew their GC support after the LSU game, and I was critical of the coaches after lackluster performances against Kentucky and LSU.

It took longer than it should've, but it appears they have this team dialed in now. Not a bunch of talented individuals, but a true team. I'd be willing to put this group up against anyone in America with the way they're playing at this point.

I say all that to say, the SMU model does appear to work. We may have very well bought our way into the playoffs, and you can bet support is/will be on fire going forward into portal season if we make the playoffs.
