SEC Championship Game

Just say that everything from here on out for the top teams goes chalk. The standings will be

Texas 7-1 (they're in)
A&M 6-2
Tenn 6-2
UGA 6-2
OM 6-2
Bama 6-2
LSU 6-2

Tiebreakers-

1. Head-to-head among the tied teams- N/A since not everybody has played everybody
2. Record vs. common opponents among the tied teams- N/A since everybody doesn't have the same common opponents
3. Record against the highest-place opponent among the tied teams- N/A since not everybody has played Texas
4. Combined winning percentage of all conference opponents for each team- TBD as other games matter. Probably Bama or UGA

Think about this- If you are a 6-2 team and you make it to the SEC Championship Game and win, then you are a #1 or #2 seed and you get a bye. If you are a 6-2 team and you make it to the SEC Championship Game and lose, then you are a 3 loss team and you may be out of the CFP.

One aspect I haven’t really heard many talk about.. (re: Simmons/2025)

Preface, I didn’t get to listen to a lot of the postgame show, so it may have been discussed.

But, in all reality, that early Simmons drive probably cost the collective more money in 2025, as programs saw the sky high ceiling and the future stardom surrounding Simmons now. Obviously the secret is out.

With that said, Kiffin/staff and the collective are probably in for a lot more kids when they can point to that and pitch playing with him. Heck, it could possibly even out with players taking a discount knowing they’re going to have success with him.

It can be a pretty ehh recruiting pitch when you show kids tape of your QB2 throwing against Furman, but showing what he did on that drive against Georgia will play well.

Just a thought as I watched that all play out yesterday.

More on the Substitute Tiger Mascot at LSU with OM Mention....

Certainly interesting and informative TV piece..

One of the most heavily recruited out of HS DL's outside the big 3 programs in a long time

Got to give Pete Golding and the Collective (Denson Hollis is huge for the Collective BTW) a lot of credit. By my count, we have 3 five stars (Nolen, Perkins and Franklin) and 8 four stars (Princely, Pegues, Ivey, Brown, Harris, Echols, Rush and Beavers) coming out HS. A defensive line that Alabama, Georgia and Ohio St would love to recruit. So awesome to see them dominate.

I’m going to say this and i know it wont be popular but with Tre Harris out that might be just what Dart needed.

Watching him get past his first receiver has made him a better QB in my opinion. That is what has opened the door to be as successful as he has been in a while. I know Harris is a game changer but Dart throwing to others shows him we can win without throwing to Harris 75% of the time and now everyone has to be covered. I just hope that when Harris comes back he doesn’t revert back to his old ways.

RECRUITING: We've got calls/messages out

I don't know who committed. A good source said it's a flip that doesn't want to go public yet. I know about the Crystal Balls/projections/breathless predictions, but I don't have anything on authority. I fully expect Caleb Cunningham to sign with Ole Miss, though I have no idea when that becomes a public thing. As for Deuce Knight, nothing would surprise me. We'll see. I've also heard today's big announcement might be a 2026 kid, at which point, it's all just kind of silly.

I'm going to bed. I'll try again tomorrow. I know we don't do enough detailed recruiting coverage, but I don't really know how to fix it. I'm one person.

Ole Miss sacks in Conference play:

# of sacks by Ole Miss defense in each SEC game.... See if you can spot the one that doesn't make sense SEC officials

Kentucky: 5
South Carolina: 6
LSU: 0... AND only 3 TFL
Oklahoma: 10
Arkansas: 8
Georgia: 5

I am still salty as hell about that game and the officiating. The no calls against their OL for holding was egregious. I get they have 2 projected 1st rounders, but give me a damn break

What's my point? Phuck LSU, that's my point

Best Stat of the Week

not involving OM

Army v North Texas. Army gets the ball on its own 6 yard line up 7-3 with 10:47 to go in the 3rd Quarter. They go 94 yards in 21 plays and consume 13:54 of the clock. By the time North Texas got the ball back, there was 11:43 to go in the game, and they had only run 3 plays in the second half.

Army over the Golden Domers would be so great.

I love back stories of football teams

Such as when Bo Wallace was on the post game show talking about Freeze and his time at OM. I love to hear Siskey tell stories about coaching, former players, etc.

I would love to know what was the vibe or the back story so to speak in the locker room during halftime of the Oklahoma game. We have seen a different OM team since they exited the locker room of that game.

Regarding WR recruiting during the off-season and please don't BASH the poster

Rumbling out their that Ole Miss is in good position to get Johntay Cook

And a forgotten name Deion Smith is currently at Hind Community College in Raymond , Ms earning credibility classroom work to finally get back in a 4 year college , if it end up being Ole Miss who knows , it will be a very interesting Offseason
